Dr. Lint lives by these rules for his lectures:
- be passionate about your topic – this is what motivates you to bring energy to the talk but also to continually improve it with new stories, mnemonics, etc.
- let students know what will be covered on the exam; adult learners are very practical, they want to know what is relevant to their future efforts – in this case that is taking the exam.
- use plenty of stories: these can be clinically based, personal, humorous or all three. We naturally gravitate toward stories, it helps us remember
- use mnemonics and other memory aides to help your students remember the material.
